Taneja Family Foundation's $120M Boost for Innovation at Tampa General Hospital

Introduction

Tampa General Hospital (TGH) is embarking on the construction of the Taneja Surgical, Neuroscience & Transplant Tower, a state-of-the-art medical pavilion in Tampa Bay.

Features

The tower will provide patients with access to top-tier providers, the latest research therapies, and advanced technologies.

Named in honor of the Taneja Family Foundation’s significant contribution, the tower is a key part of TGH’s vision to transform healthcare through innovation.

The 565,000-square-foot building will be adjacent to Tampa General’s main campus on Davis Islands.

The 12-floor building, including a plaza level, will feature 144 patient beds, 32 operating suites, expanded ICU capacity, spaces for education and training, emergency response facilities, and sterile processing areas.

Additionally, two floors are reserved for future growth. The Taneja Tower will house TGH’s surgery, neuroscience, and transplant services, playing a pivotal role in the Tampa Medical & Research District, which includes Tampa General and USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.

This development will bolster Tampa’s status as a global destination for world-class healthcare.

This tower is set to be completed in 2027 and will be located adjacent to Tampa General’s main campus on Davis Islands.

Throughout the construction phase, public access around the building will be maintained, ensuring that residents and visitors can continue to enjoy the surrounding areas of the Tampa General campus.
